I think I'm starting to feel "old"! It is such a strange thing to see people you babysat growing up and getting married. I feel like I'm not even old enough to be married! Kennan is my
little brother's best friend since toddlerhood and practically my little brother (both of them are not very little, and tower over me!) My parents threw an engagement party for him and his fiance Riceta (who is also a great friend!) this weekend.
We had a great time catching up with lots of friends we haven't seen in a while. I laughed until I cried several times. Especially when telling stories about the crazy experiences I had at my high school...that may be a post for another day!
I was in charge of the champagne bar, and it turned out lovely if I do say so myself. I wanted to recreate this pin, but had to seriously hunt for rock candy! Finally found some at Party City, and i'm excited to know that they have literally every color imaginable. Filing that info away for the future. The champagne bar was a huge hit, in fact I should have gotten more glasses because we ran out and had to pull out the solo cups!
The highlight of the party for me was when they were cutting their cake and the knife literally broke in half.
Here are a few pictures from the party:
Is that sunset not amazing?! This is the building that our office is in, downtown Tallahassee. We used the club room for the engagement party, and this was our view when the party started! Almost as stunning as her engagement ring...
Leave me a comment: How was your weekend? Have you done a champagne bar at a party?
